Dr. Moulene will assess each patient individually and determine appropriate skin care products and treatments best suited for them. The assessment will include a medical history, which will consider a diet, sleep and exercise regime and address any lifestyle changes required to promote physical and mental health. 

There are few skin care products that have actually been proven to be clinically effective. Dr. Moulene has researched the literature and discovered certain products that are essential for a good anti-ageing skin care regimen; Vitamin C, Retinol, Glycolic acids and Sunscreen. Brands she recommends are Skinceuticals, Neostrata, Jan Marini and SkinMedika. 

Dr. Moulene has devised a strong anti-ageing treatment to prevent and protect the skin from ageing. It is an intensive Vitamin C treatment with added glycolic and salicylic acid for appropriate patients. Vitamin C is  a known anti-oxidant which is effective in the prevention and treatment of skin ageing. It is also known to be photoprotective and stimulates collagen production.  

Chemical peels have been used for hundreds of years for facial rejuvenation. A chemical solution is applied to remove dead skin and encourage skin renewal. She offers light and medium depth chemical peels. Light peels slough off the superficial layer of skin (epidermis) while the medium depth peels removes skin up to the dermis. Chemical peels improve skin texture, even pigmentation and decrease sunspots and the size of pores. Fine lines may diminish or disappear, and skin may tighten.

Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as Botox, have been used since the early 90's for the treatment of wrinkles. The toxin blocks the release of acetylcholine from the neuromuscular junction, which prevents muscle contraction. By reducing facial muscle movement, lines and wrinkles can be softened. Injections are given into the muscles, temporarily weakening the muscles for a period of 3 -4 months. 

Dermal fillers are used to fill out lines and re-shape the face. They can be used to improve deep smile lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth, marionette lines at the corner of the mouth, and the definition of the lip border. Dr. Moulene uses Perlane and Restylane which are both gel formulations of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance found in all tissues of the body that holds large volumes of water and helps hydrate the skin.  The treatment lasts 6-9 months.
